The free membership piece for 1994/95 was the Factory Cat that was based on a stray cat that made his home at the Wade Factory. The cat loved to lay next to the kilns for warmth and would always greet the workers. A competition was held to name the cat and the winning entry chose was "Burslem". The name was chosen by Mr. M.R. Loft of Rainham, Kent, UK.
