Renowned for its expertise in the ceramics industry, Wade
is investing in its employees by taking on three new starters
as part of a new apprentice scheme. Showing a commitment to
local youngsters seeking a career in ceramics, Wade's apprentice
scheme will offer talented individuals a long term placement
at the Burslem-based facotry. Designed to provide staff with
the skills and qualifications to progress, the scheme combines
crucial "on the job" training with invaluable day-release
study at local Stoke-on-Trent College, Moorland Road, Burslem
and is a great way to invest in the future of its youngest employees.
David Barber from Bucknall completes a team of five in the
tool room while 18 year old Craig Humphreys from Kidsgrove takes
on the role of electrical maintenance engineer. Shadowing experienced
employees and putting what they've learnt into practice will
ensure that both apprentices can add a multitude of skills to
their portfolio.
A more recent addition to the scheme is 17 year-old Rachael
Sumnall from Mill Hill, Tunstall who joins the team as sales
administrator. Taking on a variety of tasks from reception to
general administration, Rachael will further her career at Wade
in the business sales side of the company.
Wade Ceramics Managing Director, Paul Farmer commented: "We're
really excited about the new apprentice scheme. It's vital that
we provide all of our employees in every area of the business,
with the essential training to succeed in a highly skilled buisiness.
It is important for us that we maintain traditional skills and
provied opportunities to local people to ensure the future of
ceramics in the region."
