Pottery manufacturer Wade Ceramics is to launch a new range
of kitchenware based on consumer demand. The Burslem-based company
premiered the Ovation range at this year's Ceramic Showcase
in Birmingham to get feedback before the official launch in
November Wade's kitchenware manager, Helen Merrick, said: "We
launched the range at the exhibition to get a reaction.
"We displayed it in white and grey, and cream and brown
and, as a result of the feedback, we decided to go for cream
with wooden lids.
"The response to our new range was fantastic and we have
acted on consumer demand."
The collectors maker, which employs 250 people at its factory
in Market Place, has already re-booked for next year's Ceramic
Showcase.
Miss Merrick added: "The aim of appearing at the exhibition
was to make contacts to promote the range and we were successful
in seeing representatives from independent cookshops, wholesalers
and department stores."
