Fans
of Wade Ceramics and collectors of ceramic flagons and bottles
will be interested to hear that the company is producing an
exclusive and highly collectable porcelain decanter for Chivas
Brothers, the makers of Royal Salute Scotch Whisky.
Just 255 decanters will be produced by the Stoke-based collectables
company, retailing at more than £5,000 each when filled
with whisky, individually numbered and sealed with a gold and
silver stopper.
The 50 year old blend was created on the second of June 1953
in tribute to the new Queen of England, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth
II on her Coronation, and is recognised today as one of the
finest aged Scotch whiskies.
Reflecting the quality and style inherent in Royal Salute's
special blend, Wade has designed a precious deep blue porcelain
flagon that Chivas has emblazoned with a unique plaque of the
purest silver and gold, chased and engraved by the Freemen of
the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, London.
The first decanter, known as flagon number one, has been presented
to Sir Edmund Hilary at a special dinner in Kathmandu in recognition
of his amazing feat of climbing Everest in the year that the
blend was made.
Managing director at Wade Ceramics, Paul Farmer, commented:
"I'm delighted that Chivas Brothers chose Wade Ceramics
to produce this decanter. We have produced decanters for the
firm for more than 15 years but this is by far the most exciting
and luxurious decanter we have ever produced."
Wade is the world leader in the production of premium ceramic
decanters for the international distilling industry where prestigious
packaging reflects the quality of the product contained within.
All 255 flagons were ordered within 10 weeks from launch and
will sell worldwide for more than £6,000 each.
