Commissioned Moneyboxes
The Squirrel with Acorn Moneybox was part of a young saver program for the Monmouthshire Building Society. Each savings account opened with £10 for a child under the age of 16, could choose this moneybox from a list of premiums. This proved quite popular and the inital run of 2,000 moneyboxes quickly ran out so muliple produce runs took place. The colors used varied with the production runs. The squirrel can be found in an orangy-brown, tan-brown and red-brown color. Some were also produced without the decal on the acorn.
