Commissioned Moneyboxes
Irish Baptist Home MissionThis is a "newly" discovered Wade moneybox that was authenticated during the research for the book, Irish Wade The History, People & Products, that came out in 2006. This moneybox was designed by Jim Borsey Junior. The piece is unmarked but very similar to the 1958 Shamrock Pottery Cottage. Most of these moneyboxes were purchased by the Irish Baptist Home Mission. A decal was applied for the mission and then was used as collection boxes. There is no bottom in the moneybox - a piece of cardboard would be glued on the bottom them pulled off when the box was full. A new bottom would be glued in for the next collection. There are actually two colorways that have surfaced with the Irish Baptist Decal. The colorway not shown has a yellow roof and no green bushes.
