NatWest Pig Colorways
One seller alone on eBay has sold 4 in the last couple of months! With
the rarity of this piece, one should expect them to come on the market
at a rate of one or less every five years or so. The original gold Woodys
were special gifts to the board of directors and the most of directors
would not want to sell them. See below just how many are offered for
auction in this short amount of time! Notice the difference in the color
of gold. Unfortunately, when dealing with on-line auctions, it is very
hard to tell the difference between a "real" gold Woody and
a spray painted Woody. You can be assured ALL of these are fakes. Wade is not even sure that they were the ones that produced the Gold Woody at this time as supporting records cannot be found. Update: Wade produced a new mold Gold Woody for a NatWest Promotion in late 2006. This is a smaller mold in a LE 250 and comes with a certificate of authenticity and is fully backstamped.
Woody has also been found with gold or metallic silver colored safety pins. The pig on the bottom right was found with a white safety pin! Remember that if they are not in the original issue color, you can bet that they are forgery.
