George Wade starts this edition off with an editorial. The cover of the magazine is designed by Robert R. Barlow who is known for the Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor series and the Quack Quacks Nursery Ware. Most of this magazine is filled up with what is happening in the Wade factory workers life; engagements, weddings, births, retirements, and deaths. There is also a lot of poetry, jokes, and general knowledge quiz.
Gilbey's Pottery BarrelsA wonderful article about how the Gilbey's Pottery Barrels were produced from start to finish is the highlight of this edition. The pottery barrels are produced by Wade Heath & Co., Ltd. of the Royal Victoria Pottery.
These were originally introduced for Christmas 1958. The taps were originally to be produced of brass but found to be to expensive. The first model's taps are ivory white but starting with the 1959 models, the taps are gilded by a metallizing process. The Gilbey Lamp conversion kit and five Gilbey shades were introduced April 1st after the launch at the Ideal Home Exhibition.
